About
Flavie has been working in the construction industry for over 20 years. She started at BRE in 2003 after obtaining a PhD in Materials and Metallurgy from the university of Birmingham. During her 18 years at BRE, she specialised in life cycle assessment and circular economy. In particular, she was one of the researchers on the BAMB and CiRCUIT projects, both EU Horizon 2020 funded projects on circular economy in the built environment. In 2021, she left full time employment at BRE to set up her own consultancy, Green Thinking Ltd. She is still working at BRE, mainly on EPD and circular economy projects. She is also sustainability champion for the trade association finishes interior sector (FIS). Through her role at BRE, she developed a pilot project looking to industrialise the reuse of products in construction projects. She is also a fellow of IOM3 and chairs their construction product group.
