About this module
This comprehensive module introduces learners to the foundational principles of colour theory and their practical application in design and specification. Developed in partnership with Dulux Trade UK – AkzoNobel, the course offers a deep dive into how colour influences perception, mood, and spatial dynamics.
Using the artist’s colour wheel alongside the Dulux Trade fan deck, participants will explore how colours interact and how to construct harmonious palettes that enhance both residential and commercial environments. The module demystifies the Dulux notation system, helping learners understand how we perceive colour and how this aligns with professional colour coding and specification practices.
By the end of the module, learners will be equipped with the skills and vocabulary needed to specify colour with confidence, ensuring that design choices resonate with client needs and project goals.
